Planning

The Planning Department's main focus is how people live, work and play in our Town. The department works to improve residents’ quality of life, from building a vision for healthier neighborhoods to guiding how land is used and developed. This development includes housing, retail, transportation, and shared spaces like streets and parks. The Hamburg Planning Department manages the Town's Comprehensive Plan, the long-term roadmap guiding this development.

The Planning Department works for the Town by:

• Holding public meetings

• Planning long-range community goals

• Working with the zoning code

• Assessing environmental impacts

• Managing development applications
